Symposium of the Damned, Weeknights

One of our gravest problems is this - the Republican Party’s deference to existing established interests means people become Republicans if they hope to get rich.

The partisan media, and there’s been partisan media since the dawn of the republic, so spare us the mental excuses you’re making - the Republican partisan media realize that by serving the interests of the existing interests, they, too, can get rich.

Put another way, LBJ did NOT expect to get rich by passing legislation to help protect the interests of the poor.

That’s not what Tommy Tuberville thinks. Nor, Ken Paxton. He of the 15 homes.

Much less, Elon Musk. Nor, Sean Hannity, who owns…a thousand residential properties.

One thousand.

And, THAT is the problem, see? Because, what of the left?

Well, even AOC will get rich, soon enough, just by dint of her salary and speaking fees.

Even the godly Elizabeth Warren, too.

And, so…soon enough, their passion dies.

Why? And, now FINALLY, the issue, for the Left Media - there’s no money in BROADCAST poverty.

So, there’s no Left media interest.

Lacking the interest, the issue dies on the vine.

No?

Ask Lawrence O’Donnell, he of the “categorical assertion.”

And, the gruelling 4-day work week.

Let’s look.

Night after night of this:

everywhere, biggest, eternal, permanently, every, never, greatest, every, every single one, biggest, biggest, everything, every, most important, of course, impossible, impossible, no, anything, no, any, anyone, no, never, anyone, ever, any, biggest, None, ever, all, most cowardly, ever, Most cowardly, in history, Most cowardly, Most cowardly, most cowardly, most cowardly, in history, every one, worst, most incompetent, most cowardly, in history, in history, surely, no, anything, only, thoroughly, everyone, obviously, everything, no one, we know, never, only, couldn't, obviously, Every, every, everywhere, whole, every, obviously, must

All this on one topic. In a SINGLE show.

The thrill up his leg.

And, you know who that is.

What of The Sainted Rachel Maddow, she of the 25-million-dollar 1-day work week?

Here’s her jam:

Wages? Higher wages? Health care?

Har, har.

“Huntsville · Anchorage · The Villages · Jonesboro · Hastings · Minot · Topeka · Rapid City · Cheyenne · Tupelo · Bluefield · Evansville · Boise · Salt Lake City · Louisville · New Orleans · Missoula · Charlotte · Dallas · Columbus · Chattanooga · Nashville · Austin · Columbia · Hattiesburg · Little Rock · Wichita · Oklahoma City · St. Paul · Los Angeles · Boston · Boulder · Denver · Chicago · San Francisco · Minneapolis · Philadelphia · San Diego · Washington, D.C. · New York City · Albany · Rochester · Plattsburgh · Buffalo · Atlanta · Savannah · Sandy Springs · Decatur · Scottsdale · Mesa · Phoenix · Tempe · Tucson · Surprise · Madison · Milwaukee · Greenfield · Shorewood · Brookfield · Eau Claire · Waukesha · Dodgeville · Camden · Newton · Trenton · Toms River · Indianapolis · South Bend · Bloomington · Valparaiso · Zionsville · Blacksburg · Charlottesville · Harrisonburg · Roanoke · Alexandria · Richmond · Bloomsburg · Pittsburgh · Lancaster · Pottstown · Palm Beach · Miami · Naples · Cocoa · Orlando · Fort Lauderdale · Hagerstown”

Some kind of “Show ‘em I’m an Everyman” by finding ways as often as possible to sing a paean hybrid of Route 66 and Surfin’ USA.

As she appears.

One. Day. A. Week.

Ok, Rach and Larry - here’s a tune for you, Sailing.

See - they spend every working day - 4 for him, 1 for her - sailing…FAR above the heads of the mere employed.

Republic-splitting moments, day in. Day out.

Always phrased in the same Schoolhouse Rock and the Animatronic Hall of the Presidents speak.

Minimum wage? Union organizing? Record corporate profits?

Never.

Just as much as they learned on TV.

And, about TV.

About the “GREAT MEN” of government.

And, the successes of their parents and grandparents.

Nothing more. Nothing about poverty.

It don’t play. It don’t pay.

So, a modest proposal - a TV network dedicated to the causes of working people.

Cost of the ads? Zero.

Still handsomely paid stars.

Talent ain’t free. (OK, MY talent may be largely free, but not TV talent.)

However, for this network all the ad dollars go to either the political party of the politicians who can come on air and point to ACTUAL legislation that helps the lower 1/3 of the country’s economic base.

Or, those ad dollars go to the programs of the people who are dedicating their careers to helping them. The little LBJs across this country, in every hamlet, town and city.

Lifted up. Invested in. Lauded.

And, the same goes for the stories - defeating poverty and cladding every son and daughter across the country in the finest school uniforms and well-appointed classrooms.

Ripping out lead pipes.

Building low-income housing.

Where the lead story becomes, “Sean Hannity tears down a megamansion in the Palisades and builds a 20-story low-income high-rise and a junior-senior high school complex all on the same parcel.”

Get to work, Lawrence. Stop with the ticket sales, Rachel (Howdy, Mr. Spielberg!).

Now, on to our regularly scheduled programming.

Thanks for reading.
