Listening to the podcasts in the days as the electorally obvious became more so.

The lascivious glee.

“Force them to TESTIFY!”

“Gavel in the HEARINGS!”

“Jail them to a person IN THE SENATE!”

The nearly tumescent lather. “Did you KNOW the House used to have its own JAIL cell?!”

And, all of it offered as the work awaiting a Democratic majority.

But, friends - two years.

That's what a House majority gets.

And, the plan now is to spend those two years making TV?

In your city, today, there are mothers, fathers in every building on your street working two jobs.

And, in the same house, a sick child. And a $5,000…“deductible.”

To a person, none of these folks are waiting for the next MS Now! (Jeb!) installment of ‘Senator Screaming for Vengeance.’

Nor have they been wondering whether a witness's retained attorney can address the committee under whatever rule the podcast gentlemen have discovered this morning.

In our OWN county, people up on their feet 8 hours a day, and they can’t get through a month’s worth of bills.

It’s self-government ITSELF that’s up on the line now. Can the resources of the state be delivered TO the represented. Trump and his cronies have cracked a code and instituted pay to play guided under the principles of ethnic nationalism.

Put another way, paid federal militias assaulting, arresting and murdering people on the basis of race in the streets. On camera.

Cancelling clean energy to reconstitute an entire spectrum of pollution-producing power. And, the war and death that keeps the pipelines open.

Billionaire executives minted by the healthcare, “industry.”

We have work to do. To DELIVER.

And, that aint about TV.

Pardonville, Meet the Stateys

Republicans understand television.

Or, what passes as political “participation” today - raging at the television.

But, how to TRIGGER the rage?

See? The Rs have got this down.

At Pam Bondi's October 2025 oversight hearing, senators questioned her about the Justice Department. Bondi offered personal attacks. Each one a pre-planned hit. In bindered burn book she brought to the hearing.

Sen. Schiff of California - called,”not even a lawyer” by Bondi - described the performance as a succession of canned attacks intended to please the president.

And, the clips went out.

B-roll.

Television.

Years earlier. John Bolton. A yellow legal pad brought to a White House briefing. Photographers caught the words:

“5,000 troops to Colombia.”[2]

Was that deliberate? I don't know. But, look how little it took. And, it setoff a firestorm that occupied Washington.

Now, imagine two years of this administration’s countless rogue malefactors being dragged in front of Democratic committees.

First the delays.

Weeks.

Months.

And the BREATHLESS to-ing and fro-ing. The grave intoning on TV. (I’m lookin’ at you Andrew Weissmann.)

Then, finally, they arrive. It begins. The accusation.

The affront.

The interruption.

The chair's demand for order.

The witness's deliciously irrelevant insult.

The notes so clearly laid on the table in 36-point sized inky black penmanship. “Invade the senate hearing room.”

A little something for everyone.

Hardhats vs Hippies, all afternoon. To a person, each of them with gold-plated health insurance.

What got done?

“Well, you've never SEEN hearings like these.”

No. What did we get DONE?

24 months go by.

On Them Stateys, or The Federation’s Reply - Kentucky Barkley Style

It’s crimes. Crimes.

Denying doctor visits.

Separating families.

Ordering arrests.

Masking law enforcement.

Jailing American citizens.

Authorizing shoot to kill.

Federal authority does not confer sovereign immunity to any actor carrying a badge.

It’s not legal to break the law.

In Washington, Federal agents, and the agents of the federal government reporting back to them are handsomely proud of the cruel injustices.

But, see? These crimes are occurring SOMEWHERE. In states.

States with laws.

States which are…their own sovereigns. And, with extradition.

The year is 2026? No. The year is…1946.

The president is Harry Truman.

The Senate majority leader is Alben Barkley, Democrat of Kentucky.

It’s the 79^th Congress. And, there’s been some crime.

Done in the various states.

War profiteering.

Again, not done there in D.C. So, you’re gonna need to go investigate that, right?

Well, why not just have a parade of hearings? Breathlessly intoned and…

Ah, no. That’s our era. A bit more hard-nosed, this lot.

You see, the Senate’s got its own budget, right? And, they’ve got oversight, yeah?

But, it aint gotta be dramatic swanning oversight in the marbled halls of the capitol. Especially when the crimes occurred… in the states.

The 1948 investigation? Created and funded by the senate itself.

Initially, $15,000 for staff.

Then, more.

And so, the Garsson-May investigation went forward in…Illinois.

Digging into the Garsson brothers Illinois munitions businesses and payments to Congressman Andrew May.

Contracts.

Checks.

Money concealed through a lumber company.

The results handed to the FBI and Justice Department.

The Garsson brothers and May were convicted.

May went to prison.

Congress paid for the digging, and prosecutors took it to court.

Or, serially, if you will.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington: all with blue governors and all-blue legislatures.

You see? Because Mr. Miller, and even his state allies appear to have been ordering crimes to be committed in the several states.

More importantly, we can be sure he traveled to more than one of those states to oversee, orchestrate and even encourage the same.

But, state investigations aren’t free.

So…THAT’S what the next congress does.

Funds a state-spanning series of legal inquiries.

Hands the facts over to the state district attorney. The DAs indict.

Federal Supremacy!

Federal supremacy, you say? Sure.

That gets your case…removed to FEDERAL district court.

But, tried under STATE law. Tough break, right?

It’s always illegal to order the law to be broken, even when you carry a badge.

Most civilized people would say especially so.

The Garsson-May Investigations - widely known today as The Truman Committee.

This will be the Truman Committee of our time.

Or, the Federation Strikes Back.

Sovereignty bites, right?

On Conspirators

And, the conspirators.

Can it be?

Is it possible?

That in each state mothers, fathers, children were dragged into cells, sleeping under mylar “blankets” on cement.

To a person they are OF that state, citizen or not they are PEOPLE in MY STATE in AMERICA.

AMERICA, a land where process is due. Due on demand.

You see, in EACH one of these states, were the LOCAL abettors.

They who drove out of their wide curving driveways every morning, to do the bidding of the new “government.” As if it and they were immune from that which gives us all government - the constitution itself.

They pulled up to their “offices.” To hand out more mylar. Deny more doctor visits. “I was only following orders.”

So, you see? Federally funded state investigations.

THIS is a use of TV. Or, what you might call Tidewater Journalism. Because it’s a hell of a lot more compelling when a cabinet secretary, and his local minions are being tried by YOUR state. And, hell - they need to PETITION for the trial in DC. It’s not a given.

JD Vance recently said that if Watergate happened today it would be a 12-hour story. Killing people, or ordering the destruction of lives and livelihoods in YOUR hometown aint gonna be no 12-hour story to YOUR local paper.

And, they’ll be no Cheshire Cat grins on the faces of those accused of state crimes. Those operating today under the “having been within 250 feet of the Oval Office” rule. When you’re being arraigned in state court you can look to the east for your pardon all you want. Even if granted, worthless.

And, Washington?

Or, should we say…back in New York?

Because, that’s where the programming decisions are being made.

The scripts already being written.

You see? Our Left media is ON for all a’ THAT!

But, DO that…and you fail the country twice.

You lock us into an absurd parade of hypocrisy-laden normative accusation theater. We’ll be subjected to weeks of, “Huffs the minority leader, ‘…that never in the HISTORY of the House Cloakroom has any sitting secretary in his august majesty been…”

And, worse - Trump and his Maga allies all drove trucks right through the loopholes in laws we were all shocked to find to be only values based. Norms, if you will.

And, they were dump trucks.

Container trucks.

Each one shoveled full of cash as they sped through your nation’s capitol. Groaning under the weight of the treasure. And racing headlong through the laws we THOUGHT must be in place to protect us.

No HEARINGS?

Not ENTIRELY. Legislative Advisory Committees.

See?

Because, once Ms. Noem or Messrs. Kennedy or Lewandowski, much less their underlings in the states who EXECUTED the orders, once those people get stopped in the airport of state B to be extradited to state A, and begin to wrangle to get their cases BACK to DC, only to be tried under state laws anyway, hurtling toward conviction…they may have a change of heart.

“We knew there weren't enough doctors.”

“We knew Jerry's brother would get the contract.”

“I raised it. They told me the secretary had approved it.”

And, they’ll arrive VOLUNTARILY, to show goodwill facing state charges.

And, at the same time, we may all be surprised when they arrive many of them may just to UNBURDEN THEMSELVES about how they betrayed the departments they had worked for for a generation and a half, turning guns and truncheons on the helpless. Descending from helicopters on Chicago city streets. Withholding medicine.

Voluntarily.

This, then is the House, the Senate at its best - listening to the people. Albeit, the compromised. And working to pass legislation. To protect people. To unshackle us from the nascent bonds of state capture. Not to perform for TV.

Go Back Inside, Do the Work

DC thinks it NEEDS the Left press with it.

So, the response to demands, “When are you gonna hold hearings on what Hegseth did?” Or, the ever-terrifying, “What do you say to people who say…”

Well, you see? Therein lies the very POWER of the idea of having funded state investigations of federal abuses. Clearly, by that time, the Former Secretary will have plenty of legal issues of his own he’ll be dealing with. You can’t order the execution of people to be carried out from state locations.

So, for the next two years, when the cameras rush forward and shout “Hearings!” And, offering, “Gavel to gavel coverage!”, try this:

“That’s being handled by the states. You should go ask them. My job here is representing my neighbours, the people of the 22^nd district. We're working to make their paths to success easier, and to pass legislation preventing the abuses they have just lived through.”
