Most people hearing either Trump's speech last night, or Joe McCarthy's Wheeling, W. Virginia speech in 1950, would say what normal people almost always say when somebody gets all wound up,
"You're taking that too far.”
As if, upon hearing there are EZ Pass tags that let you speed through tolls, someone concludes,
"It's one-world government!"
The evidence doesn’t support the conclusion.
So, why do these curious misfits - both Trump and McCarthy, socially off balance - why do they even try?
Why bother?
This is a chapter I left out of my 1st book.
The B-Roll Hive
It's The B-Roll Hive, and we’re just living in it.
One segment of the public, surely.
One segment, especially those in the reactionary "public policy commentary” field.
They are not listening to the whole speech.
Twenty-five minutes of Angry Senior on the Porch? No.
Just the same McCarthy's 20-minute address. (Which, interestingly was never recorded, though McCarthy DID enter it into the Congressional Record.)
Nor, even we. We’re unlikely to hear the full speech.
But, the B-Roll will play, as the be-suited Opinionisti each of us trust start to "explain" what happened.
THAT’S why they do it.
And, the B-Roll will play.
Perhaps not even cutting from the speech, the presenters may edit their own with PLA soldiers goose-stepping across a parade ground.
And, the B-Roll will play, until the argument is not even argued. Just asserted - as set up.
“My panel will discuss.”
Better yet, delivered in B-sized doses, suitable for fast injection - or, chanting.
“B-sized doses, suitable for fast injection - or, chanting!”
Hyperbole?
Well, look, from Thursday night:

Hidden from you
Most secure
No greatness
Stolen vote
Two
Act now
Call now
Deep state
Fair vote
No trust
Rigged vote
Stop fraud
They lied
Vote fraud
That’s why they would do it.
In yesterday’s article previewing, I noted,
“A simple thing everyone American believes (the patriotic bit - foreign attempts, and we’re against them), made into a GIANT (false) MONSTERY THING…”
And, how, when McCarthy did it, he then sent that monster
“…stomping across the national imagination.”
Trumps goal, last night, knowing the bees will swarm, was to do the same.
